Research

Research in my lab aims to develop a theoretical understanding of the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases to advance applied research while drawing from the fields of wildlife biology and conservation. We have several areas of focus which include understanding transmission dynamics of multi-host pathogens, examining interactions between environmental change drivers and infectious disease, uncovering host and pathogen response following pathogen introduction, and developing management solutions for imperiled species. We work across multiple host-pathogen systems including white-nose syndrome (WNS) in bats, snake fungal disease, and SARS-CoV-2 in mammal communities.
